Sentry Corporate Offices
Challenge
A comprehensive remodel of the executive offices at Sentry Insurance was already in progress but falling behind schedule. As part of the renovation, an existing fireplace in one of the executive offices needed to be updated to match the high standards of the newly installed cabinetry and millwork. To ensure a seamless integration, the fabricator required precise measurements of the fireplace, surrounding walls, and flooring—capturing exactly how these elements intersected. These dimensions were critical for the accurate fabrication of a new fireplace mantle, surround, and hearth.
Solution
By leveraging advanced software and precision laser technology, we accurately templated every element of the fireplace. Our capability to reposition the laser within the same room—while maintaining exacting accuracy—enabled us to capture a complete and detailed scan of the space. Crucially, we provided hard-to-obtain data such as the highest and lowest points across all horizontal and vertical surfaces. This level of detail allowed the fabricator to streamline production in the shop and significantly reduce labor requirements during on-site installation.
Results
The finished fireplace was described by both the General Contractor and the executive team as “stunning, beautiful, and elegantly simple.” The Contractor was particularly impressed by the precision of our templating process, which enabled the fabricator to reduce both production and installation time. Our detailed, accurate data ensured that each component fit perfectly, streamlining what could have been a complex installation.
