Challenge
Beautiful handcrafted cabinets—more akin to fine furniture than traditional kitchen storage—set an uncompromising standard for the entire space. The counters needed to match that level of excellence without a single misstep. Adding to the mix were a handmade clay farmhouse sink imported from Italy and a full suite of professional-grade appliances, from cooktop to refrigerator to dishwasher. The digital templates underwent meticulous editing, and then converted into CAD files so the fabricator could send them straight to the machines for precise cutting and processing. As if that weren’t enough, the design also called for a full-height splash with elegantly curved corners—an extra touch of craftsmanship that demanded both technical accuracy and artistry. With so many statement pieces in play, the counters had no choice but to be perfect.
Solution
The design approach centered on balance: letting the furniture-quality cabinetry shine while ensuring the counters elevated the room as a whole.
